Tackling stereotypes, building community, and transforming lives through sport for the LGBTQIA+ and ally community.

That's the vision statement for Boston's FLAG Flag Football organization where Dave and Tony met. Tony had been playing for a number of years, and Dave was new to the league (although not new to football having played in college and after!) It was a Spring day in 2016 when their football teams played each other. Dave was unfortunate enough to tear his Achilles tendon that day which took him out for the rest of the season!

The league was more than just football though. Despite his injury, Dave and Tony would see each other at league events over the months that followed. They discovered that outside football they had a lot in common, including being foodies - sharing a love for all things tacos, pizza, and pasta!

Dave and Tony started dating later that year, in December of 2016. The years that followed would be filled with adventures featuring restaurants, travel, movies, concerts, home renovations, and more football.

On the night of their 7th anniversary, Tony proposed to Dave and a new chapter of adventures begins July 26th, 2025 when they will be married!
